Sharks can predict the weather

This is not something that is going to be very useful to the London weather station seen as London is landlocked, but research by a marine biology student claims that sharks could be used to predict the weather, it has emerged.

Lauren Smith who is only 24 is close to completing her PhD studies about the ability of sharks to sense abilities pressure.

If her studies prove that her theory is right, in future, scientists could monitor the behaviour of sharks to anticipate severe weather fronts.

The research of lucky Miss Smith took her to the Bahamas and was carried out in the wild on lemon sharks. (I know I studied the wrong subject)

Her work is the first of its kind to attempt to test the pressure theory.
Miss Smith said: "I've always been keen on travelling and diving and this led me to an interest in sharks.

"I was delighted to have been able to explore this area for my PhD, particularly as it's the first time it's really been explored fully.

"How many other students get the chance to put a shark in a chamber to study its behaviour?"
It is a well-known fact that animals are sensible to weather changes that we humans do not detect.

Tomorrow I will look up some more information on this subject… Maybe we can find a little forecaster animal friend that will be useful for us here in London. ?
